Beginning January 1, 2004, California has a new "Paid Family Leave" program. Part of the State Disability Insurance (SDI) program, paid family leave gives workers at companies of any size partial reimbursement of their pay for up to six weeks during any 12-month period. Benefits are available for eligible absences starting July 1, 2004. |
